The Dallas Morning News reports he'll be introduced at a press conference on Monday.
Morris has run Clemson's offense the past four years and is a major part of their 41 victories in that span.
He's a former high school coach in Texas, and has been linked to coaching jobs in Texas in the past.
Morris wouldn't confirm that the deal was final after the Tigers 35-17 win over South Carolina on Saturday.
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said "If Chad has an opportunity and it's something that he wants to do and feels good about, hey, I wish him nothing but the best" after the game."He's helped us and we've helped him." Swinney said. "If he decides it's something he wants to do and he hasn't decided that. But if he decides he wants to do it, it wont be the last time I have someone leave to be a head coach." Swinney added.
Fox Carolina reached out to SMU's athletic department. They confirmed there is a press conference scheduled for Monday, during which a head football coach would be named. They said they could not release the name Sunday evening.
