GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A new task force plans to take litter to task along Greenville Co. roads.

Officials in the area said litter along county and state roadways is a growing problem, which is why Councilmen Butch Kirven and Joe Dill are creating a task force which includes state and county anti-litter groups like Adopt-A-Highway and Keep Greenville County Beautiful to help address the problem.

The group has only met once and so far has not come up with any major new ideas, but Kirven said the he is confident the group can help clean up the area and make it more attractive for businesses and visitors.

"We've noticed the problem magnifying," said Kirven. "A lot of good people are trying to keep things clean and do the right thing, but it's just going in the wrong direction right now, so we gotta try and turn it around."

The task force is set to meet again in the next two weeks.
