Reports: Man kicks deputies attempting to place him in patrol car

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Spartanburg man faces multiple charges after deputies said he kicked them while they were attempting to restrain the main in a patrol car.

Deputies said they saw Allen Sinclair lying on the ground while patrolling the area of front Street and Powell Mill Road.

When deputies asked Sinclair if he was all right, he began to move around, incident reports state. Sinclair was unsteady on his feet, slurring his speech, and deputies said he admitted that he had been drinking.

Deputies said Sinclair was placed in handcuffs and began cursing and kicking deputies as they tried to get him seated in a patrol car.

Deputies were eventually able to secure Sinclair with leg restraints.

Sinclair was charged with public disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and resisting arrest with assault.

Sinclair is being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center on a $14,600 bond.
