MAULDIN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Authorities are investigating after two brothers were found dead inside a Mauldin home on July 17.

Mauldin Police Department received a call that two bodies were inside a home on Mapleton Drive. Sergeant Benjamin Ford said the deaths appeared to be a murder-suicide.

Coroner Parks Evans identified the dead men as 37-year-old Adam Norrell and 34-year-old Gabriel Norrell. The cause of death for both men was determined to be a gunshot wound.

Evans said the deaths remain under investigation, but it is believed the incident only involves the brothers.

An incident report indicates that just days before their deaths, the police were investigating Gabriel Norrell on a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators with the S.C. Attorney General’s Office tracked down an IP address to the Norrell residence and someone with access to that IP address had downloaded nine images of child pornography, according to a police report.
