GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An old furniture warehouse located on Peden Street in Greenville is now housed with Swamp Rabbit Cross Fit, which is a gym and soon other businesses are expected to move in.

"We cater to everyone," Jessica Clohessy said.

She's the general manager and a cross fit instructor at the gym.

"Any individual who wants to come and put in work, we have them here," she said.

The building is surrounded by plans for a new park in the West End of Greenville.

"The plans for the park are a really big deal to us as we're getting more traffic passing by our building."

Cyclists circle the building which sits along the Swamp Rabbit Trail and the area is being peddled as the new adult playground.

"It's a place where adults can come and hang out and be fit and active and also just relax at the same time," Clohessy said.

Right now, there's a bike shop also at the building and plans for other businesses.

"And a yoga studio is going to open up," Clohessy said. "The end space will be an event space and a cafe."

And space is what is needed for the area to all come together.

"The first effort that needs to be undertaken is to move Public Works to a new location," Dana Souza said.

He's the director of Parks and Recreation with the city of Greenville.

"Once Public Works is moved, then we can look at the development of a new park that would be in this area right along the Reedy River and Swamp Rabbit Trail," he said.

There are already plans to redevelop about 30 acres of the area near Hudson Street.

"I think it will attract additional development in that area," Souza said.

Managers with Swamp Rabbit Cross Fit say the yoga studio and cafe could be complete by the end of fall.
