GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate lawmaker said he will create a task force and push for legislation to allow for tighter security at movie theaters and businesses in South Carolina.

State Senator Karl Allen told FOX Carolina about his plan in the wake of the shooting at a movie theater in Louisiana Thursday. Two people died, including the gunman in that incident. The shooting comes three years after a gunman opened fire at a movie theater in Aurora, CO.

Moviegoers said they would like to see metal detectors at theaters and more police presence.

"My plans are to ask for a task force -  a study committee - to be formed and authorized by the Governor of South Carolina to analyze this issue," Allen said.
