ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said three people were attacked by two dogs on Tuesday in Anderson.

Police said one adult suffered extreme injuries and two others suffered non-life threatening injuries. The attack happened on Osborne Avenue at Shirley Street.

Officers said they arrived on scene to find the victims on top of a truck. The dogs were then shot and killed by police. They are being taken to a local shelter to be tested.

Police are actively trying to identify the dogs' owner. An arrest could be made for violating city ordinance regarding vicious animals running loose.

Chief James Stewart said they believe the dogs had some type of pitbull in them but could not confirm the breed yet.
