GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The doors were wide open Thursday night at Academy Sports in Greenville for 25 lucky kids of The Boys and Girls Club.  Each child was able to pick out $50 worth of merchandise at no charge.

They were escorted around the store by Academy Staff, and by no surprise, they were happy to take home their new gear.

"I feel pretty excited, and I'm really glad that I got all this to support Clemson," said Marcos Perez.

And the kids of the Boys and Girls Club weren't the only ones feeling good about the kind gesture from Academy Sports. "It makes your day, it's exciting to see the kids come in with the parents and be excited about their team, shopping, they have money to go around and get some stuff, some good gear with so it's very fulfilling for us as a company to be able to give back to our community," said store director Kelsie Hagan.

Hagan said if Clemson wins the National Championship game, they will re-open the store immediately after.

"We will have all the championship gear available for our fans and our customers so that they can look just like the team players on the field as their putting on their championship hats and their championship t-shirts," said Hagan.
