MOORE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies are searching for who left a mother for dead after shooting her several times near an intersection.

Sheriff Chuck Wright said the shooting occurred on Reidville Road near the intersection of Highway 290.

He said a woman was driving home to her family, including her husband and two children, ages 2 and 4, when she was shot multiple times and left for dead.

Wright identified the victim as Stephanie Batchelor. He said it was Batchelor's husband, Johnathan Olin Batchelor, 27, who found her.

“…We need to be praying for her to heal and we hope that God's blessings are on her, but we also need to know who did this,” Wright said.

He has asked the public to help investigators find who attacked the woman and left her for dead.

“Think about your sister or think about your friend or a person that you dearly love,” Wright said.

On Tuesday afternoon, officers and a dive team searched for evidence at Reidville Road near the River Falls Plantation neighborhood. The scene was cleared shortly after 4 p.m.

FOX Carolina has also learned that Spartanburg County deputies have charged Johnathan Olin Batchelor, 27, with unlawful carrying of a pistol.

Deputies responded to a call regarding a suspicious person with a gun on Sunday. Deputies say they found Batchelor inside a nearby 7-Eleven with a revolver tucked into the waistband of his pants. Batchelor admitted that his permit to carry a concealed weapon had expired, according to deputies. Batchelor has since been released on bond.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office at 864-503-4500, or 911 or call Spartanburg Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIMESC (274-6372).
