A kind Apple Store employee in Green Hills is being praised for the way he helped out a boy with special needs.

The boy's mother, LynnMarie Rink, wrote about the encounter on Facebook to say thank you to the employee, later identified as Andrew Wall.

James was born with Down syndrome and also has autism. He uses his iPad as tool for learning and communication.

The Fiona Rose Murphey Foundation Charitable Trust found out James needed a new iPad and offered to buy him one.

James and his mother were at the mall to buy the new iPad when James accidentally ran into a glass wall, which knocked him down onto the floor of the store.

Rink said Wall came over to make sure they were both OK and then sat with them on the floor to help James set up the new iPad.

There are no words to accurately describe how grateful I am that he took the time to ‘meet us right where we were.’ He didn’t have to sit down on the floor with us. He could have easily waited for us to stand. Could have easily waited for us to come back another day. But he hung out with us in the midst of our pain. He even got a fist bump from James, and I snapped this photo.

Rink's Facebook post has since been liked more than 18,000 times and has been picked up by several national media outlets.
