Five mothers who lost their children to violence will travel to several South Carolina cities along with area civil rights attorneys to campaign for Hillary Clinton, according to Clinton's campaign.
Speakers include Sybrina Fulton, mother of Trayvon Martin; Geneva Reed-Veal, mother of Sandra Bland; Gwen Carr, mother of Eric Garner; Maria Hamilton, mother of Dontre Hamilton; and Lucy McBath, mother of Jordan Davis as well as prominent civil rights lawyers, including Benjamin Crump, Gregg Greer, Cannon Lambert, and Billy Murphy.
The group will host "Breaking Down Barriers" forums in Greenville and Spartanburg on Tuesday to discuss issues of equality, justice, police accountability, and gun violence, according to a news release.
The Greenville event will be at 9:30 a.m. at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, located at 105 Donaldson Road.
The Spartanburg event will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, located at 502 South Daniel Morgan Avenue.
The mothers will also speak at churches in Charleston, Holly Hill, Aiken, Sumter, Columbia, Bennettsville, Rock Hill, and Longs on Monday and Tuesday.
Clinton is among three Democrats on the ballot in the South Carolina Democratic Presidential Primary on Feb. 27.
