More than 1,000 lose power in Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

More than 1,000 Duke Energy customers lost power in Greenville Wednesday morning.

The outage was in the Dellwood and Morningside communities near Wade Hampton Boulevard and Pleasantburg Drive.

1,082 customers were affected as of 8 a.m.

Officials said a car crash on Pleasantburg Drive at Chalmers Road involving a utility pole led to the outage. The South Carolina Highway patrol is investigating the crash. Injuries were reported, per the agency's website.

Duke expects to have the outage restored by noon.
