PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) - Coast Guard Cutter Elm is heading to Baltimore this month for a major dry dock overhaul. The Juniper Class, 225-foot seagoing buoy tender was commissioned in 1998. It has spent the last 20 years maintaining over 250 floating aids to navigation from central New Jersey to the Border of North Carolina and South Carolina.

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Police say they found a man wanted in a shooting investigation using a false wall to hide behind a toilet in a house. Jail records show 36-year-old Fronta Pernell McCrorey is now jailed on charges including attempted murder. Police in Rock Hill, South Carolina say McCrorey was sought as officers investigate a convenience store shooting. Police were told the suspect wasn't inside, but took a closer look _ and found their man hiding behind the false wall.

LANCASTER, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say deputies backed by a canine unit and a helicopter have chased down a South Carolina man suspected of kidnapping a baby, eventually finding him eating at a fast food restaurant. His clothes were bloody after crashing a pickup truck, according to authorities. But they say the baby was ultimately found safe and unharmed.

(AP) - Federal ocean managers are making more than $2 million available to try to help fishermen catch less of the wrong fish. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says it is providing about $2.4 million for "projects that increase collaborative research and partnerships for innovation" in reducing bycatch.
