WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - As he fights for his political life, Gov. Henry McMaster could be getting a big boost on Monday as the two-week sprint to South Carolina's primary runoff comes to an end. In the final full day of campaigning, President Donald Trump is making a trip to West Columbia to campaign for McMaster's bid for a first full term in office. The presidential visit comes just hours before voters decide if they want McMaster or businessman John Warren as their GOP nominee for governor.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina lawmaker who's running for Congress has undergone two major surgeries, including one for a spinal fracture, after being injured in a recent highway accident. Spokesman Michael Mule says via an emailed statement that state Rep. Katie Arrington is expected to make a full recovery, adding Sunday's two surgeries went "extremely well."

BREVARD, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a South Carolina man died when he tried to rescue his dog at a waterfall in western North Carolina. News outlets report 42-year-old John Shaffer died Saturday after going over Rainbow Falls in the Pisgah National Forest, just outside Gorges State Park.

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - A collision between two jet skis has claimed the life of a South Carolina man. Officials tell multiple news outlets that 50-year-old Martin Dale McDaniel died in the collision Saturday afternoon near Red Bluff boat landing in Conway.
