Deputies: Three arrested on drug charges in Yancey Co.

YANCEY, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said three were arrested earlier this month on drug charges in Yancey County.

Randall Chandler, 54, of Burnsville was charged with multiple drug offenses, including probation violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent manufacture/sell controlled substance, and simple possession schedule VI of controlled substance.

He was released on a $30,000 secured bond.

Megan Mathew, 27, of Spruce Pine was also arrested on June 1. Mathews was charged with possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to reports. Mathews was released after posting a $3,000 bond.

Deputies say, Edward Smith, 44, of Tennessee, was also arrested and charged for multiple drug offenses. Smith was charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, simple possession Schedule VI controlled substance and failure to appear for second degree trespassing.

Smith remains in Yancey County Jail under a $12,500 bond.
