GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County Schools said free breakfast will be offered to all students starting in the 2016-2017 school year regardless of their paid meal status.

“We know that a well nourished student is better prepared to start their academic day, and for that reason we have decided to offer Universal Free Breakfast to ALL students starting with the upcoming 2016-2017 school year,” the school district posted on its Facebook page.

The school district said they served 3 million breakfasts during the 2015-2016 school year.
