Clouds will increase throughout the day on Saturday as temperatures climb into the upper 80s across the Upstate and mid-80s in western North Carolina.
Dry conditions continue to be an issue as our drought problem persists across the Carolinas. Abnormally dry conditions continue for our far eastern counties while conditions deteriorate further west, putting northeast Georgia and our far western Upstate counties under an extreme drought.
A good chance of afternoon storms will arrive Saturday afternoon and provide a bit of relief. Unfortunately, daytime evaporation could hinder any major relief efforts from said storms.
Saturday evening will fall into the low 70s and mid-60s as lingering showers and storms taper off. Sunday will be partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon storms.
Our summer like pattern will pick back up once again with the upcoming work week.
