EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

It's scary... it's very scary!" said a woman too scared to identify who she is. She said she was an eyewitness to a tragic shooting, she remembers the chilling moments she watched two dogs get gunned down.

"I seen a silver car pull up, and the dogs ran down to the car and he started firing... it was 5 to 6 shots," the woman said. She lives in the Easley neighborhood where police said two dogs were shot.

The woman who witnessed the shooting said luckily she was able to get a description and photo of the car to show police. "Silver Mustang with chrome rims, and the guy was wearing a mask," she said.

The family also did not want to be identified as they looked at the fence where their dogs would play outside.  They said now, right beside are tire tracks where the driver's tires left marks, when neighbors said he sped off after shooting the dogs.

"I ran down here and by the time I got down here, I seen one of them laying down on the ground and the other one was hurt," said the female witness. She said she immediately called 911. The family who owns the two dogs said their one year old dog Copper,  was already dead when they got home from church.

And now all the neighbors are wanting the suspect caught. "Just be on the look out, just be on the lookout for the car," said the witness.

The surviving dog is 10 year old Sophie. She was shot several times and now has many wounds and stitches covering her body. The family said the vet told them, the bullet went straight through her stomach.

But Copper, wasn't so fortunate, and it's because of his death,  and this shooting that's left a community on edge. "I hope he gets caught very quickly, cause there's kids in this neighborhood and there's elderly people in the neighborhood and it's just... we don't need somebody like that around here," said the eye witness.

Easley Police ask that if you have any information regarding the shooting, to contact their office at (864)859-4025.
