GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers said a man is facing multiple charges after crashing into two buildings in Greenville County  crashed into a building on Laurens Road early Monday morning.

Troopers were initially called to a hit and run involving a vehicle that had crashed into the Old Navy in the Cherrydale Shopping Center on North Pleasantburg Drive around 3:15 a.m.

While en route to the call, troopers said a Greenville County deputy pulled over what was believed to be the suspect's vehicle. When the trooper arrived at the scene of the traffic stop, the driver sped away.

A brief chase ensued but troopers said they called it off quickly because the driver was behaving erratically.

Minutes later, another driver spotted  the vehicle running a red light at the intersection of Washington Street and US 123.

Reports came in minutes later a car had crashed into a building on Laurens Road

The crash happened  at Dale’s Sales and Service near East Washington Street.

Troopers said the vehicle was the same one sought in connection with the earlier crash and chase.

The driver, 26-year-old Darius Dendy of Greenville was arrested and charged with two counts of failure to stop for blue light, property damage, and driving under the influence.
