Showers continue Tuesday, cooler air is next

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Tuesday’s game plan will be fairly similar to Monday’s weather-wise.  We’ll start the day with a couple of stray showers in the mountains of western North Carolina and patchy fog elsewhere.

A cold front will be right on top of us on Tuesday, bringing increasing clouds and another chance for afternoon and evening showers and storms. It won’t be the widespread rain we really need, but a few areas will get a beneficial soaking.

Skies will clear Tuesday night, and this will set the stage for a steady cool-down. Highs will still be a bit warm on Wednesday in the mid 70s to mid 80s area-wide under sunny skies. By Wednesday night a blast of cool air will be upon us. Expect lows to drop into the 50’s for the Upstate by Thursday morning, with some 40’s likely for the mountains early on!

Highs will be cooler than normal in the mid 70s for the Upstate both Thursday and Friday, and the pleasant, sunny and mild stretch of weather will last into the weekend.
