ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County deputies said one man has been arrested and another person is being sought after a 2013 armed robbery at a carpet store.

Deputies said Dalton Carpets on Highway 28 by-pass was robbed on November 5, 2013.

On Tuesday, deputies said Rodriqious Desha Hardy, 25, of Anderson was charged in the robbery, which occurred just after noon.

“During the robbery, Hardy and a co-conspirator entered the store and demanded money,” Lt. Sheila Cole stated in a news release. “The store manager and an employee were forced to the ground at gunpoint while the suspects took money (from the store register), and a cell phone.”

Both suspects fled into the wood and discarded the hoodies they had been wearing during the robbery. The hoodies were collected by forensics teams and one contained DNA evidence that matched Hardy, Cole said.

Cole said Hardy was located in Pickens County on Sept. 20 and taken into custody.   He is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of failure to appear in court. He is being held in the Anderson County Detention Center on a $30,000 surety bond.

The second suspect has not yet been identified and the case is still under investigation.

Anyone with information about the identity of Hardy’s accomplice is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 864-260-4400 or Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
