Power outages, downed trees reported in Upstate storms

BOILING SPRINGS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

As severe thunderstorms rolled through the Upstate, power was knocked out for thousands in the Carolinas.

Spartanburg County was most affected with more than 1,700 customers without power at 4 p.m. The two largest outages in the county were along Old Furnace Road near Boiling Springs and along Fish Camp Road and Parris Bridge Road.

By 8 p.m., power was restored to the area.

Downed trees were also reported.

Jesse Kelley of Westminster said a tree fell on his home on Seed Farm Road. Kelley said thankfully, his family was uninjured.
