Partly cloudy skies today with highs in the low 70s for the mountains and around 82 in the Upstate. A light breeze and low humidity will keep the air comfortable, even though it's slightly warmer than average.
Thursday night will be a bit chilly compared to what's been happening lately. Lows will cool to 53 in the Upstate and 47 in the mountains.
Friday will be a perfect "10" on the Skymeter, with sunny skies and highs in the 70s area-wide. Sunny weather will stretch into the weekend, with only a slight warm-up ahead. Highs will be back to the low 80s by Sunday.
Tropical Storm Matthew continues to get closer to the Caribbean, and will potentially become a hurricane tonight or Friday. It could pose a threat to the east coast of the U.S. toward the middle of next week.
