Fall like temperatures will settle in by Friday morning and linger through the weekend. We’re also watching a hurricane in the Caribbean for possible U.S. impacts next week.
After the cool start, temperatures will rebound quickly into the 70s area-wide with plenty of sunshine on Friday afternoon. Friday evening will be pleasantly cool for high school football or whatever else you may have planned outside.
Saturday will be clear and chilly early on with temps in the low 50s for the Upstate and mid 40s for the mountains. With unimpeded sunshine, it will warm up quickly by afternoon into the mid to upper 70s.
Sunday and Monday will be sunny with highs warming back into the 80s in many posts. Quiet weather looks to linger for much of the upcoming work week.
Hurricane Matthew will be slowly moving through the Caribbean through this weekend, then is expected to make a northerly turn toward the Bahamas and U.S. early next week. Some models have the storms making a close pass by the Outer Banks, and it could be a major hurricane. We’ll keep you posted as the situation evolves.
