It is finally feeling like fall! The cool nights and mild days will stick with us this weekend.
Expect a chilly start with morning temperatures in the 40s and 50s. The rest of Saturday will be a beauty of a day, with sunny skies, low humidity and temps in the 70s to near 80 during the afternoon. On the Carolina Skymeter, the Fox Carolina Weather Team gives Saturday a perfect “10”!
Sunday will be very nice as well, with temperatures warming up slightly more during the afternoon. Highs will reach 83 in the Upstate and 77 in the mountains.
Dry weather will last through all of next week as it looks now, but we could really use the rain. We are behind on rainfall by over half a foot in Asheville and at GSP. A tropical system would be a great solution to this problem, but it looks like Matthew has other plans.
Hurricane Matthew (Category 4), will eventually turn north toward Jamaica on Sunday, and is then expected to continue toward the Bahamas and U.S. early next week. Some models have the storms making a close pass by the Outer Banks late next week, so for that reason, we're keeping a close eye on it.
