EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Dollar Tree employee and Upstate pastor said he's thankful he's alive after being robbed at gunpoint.

Tracy Gantt said he was closing up the Dollar Tree off of Highway 123 in Easley. As he was walking to his car, two men reportedly grabbed Gantt from behind and held him at gunpoint.

Gantt reported the incident to the Easley Police Department and said the two men wore skeleton masks to hide their identity. Gantt said he immediately tried to protect himself as soon as he saw the gun and wrestled the men to try and get hold of it.

"I put my hands up and said, 'You know you won, take whatever you want, spare my life. I am a pastor, just spare my life',” Gantt said.

The two men ran off with a Dollar Tree cash deposit bag, his wallet, cell phone and social security card, Gantt said. Now he’s concerned for the safety of.

"Next time it could be worse. Someone could be shot, you know," Gantt said. "Even killed, so these people need to be off the street. It's making it hard for hard working people to feel safe at their jobs."

The two men are still on the loose tonight.
