ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies are investigating a shooting that claimed one teen’s life and injured another person in Anderson County.

Deputies said they believe the shooting occurred in the early morning hours of Sept. 25.

Coroner Greg Shore said the victims were driving on Clemson Boulevard between the Sandy Springs and La France communities when they were shot by someone in another vehicle.

Both victims suffered leg wounds.

Shore said the victims didn’t immediately seek medical attention, and were taken to the hospital in a different car, not the one they were shot in.

Deputies said they were called when the two victims arrived at the hospital just after 3 a.m.

By that time, Shore said 18-year-old Courvocia Hunter had lost nearly all of his blood.

By the time doctors replaced the blood in his body, Shore said Hunter was suffering multiple organ failures.

The teen died late Thursday night.

The death is being considered a homicide.

“The case is active and under investigation,” Lt. Sheila Cole said on Saturday. “No arrests have been made, at this time.”

Investigators did not have an update on the other victim’s condition.
