Father of Townville shooting suspect to be laid to rest on Sunday

TOWNVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Family and friends on Sunday will say goodbye to the Anderson County farmer who investigators said was shot to death by his teen son before the 14-year-old drove to Townville Elementary School and shot three people on the school’s playground.

Jeffrey DeWitt Osborne, 47, died on Sept. 28 at his home on Osborne Road.

Osborne owned and operated the Osborne Poultry Farm, according to his obituary.

A visitation service will be held from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Oakdale Baptist Church in Townville.

The Funeral service will begin at 3 p.m.

Burial will follow at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Osborne's sister-in-law posted about preparing for the funeral on Facebook. "Ride that motorcycle into the heavens above," Mitzi Clark Richards posted on Facebook Sunday. "Today we celebrate you buddy."
