Firefighters: Spartanburg Co. road closed due to gas leak

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

North Spartanburg Fire District said a gas leak was reported Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred on John Dodd Road around 11:15 a.m. when a Duke Energy crew working near the intersection of Asheville Highway struck a gas line.

The site is the future location of Hope Church, firefighters said.

Businesses in the area have reportedly been asked to shelter in place. The repair is estimated to take two to four hours.
