Coroner called to Anderson Co. crash

TOWNVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Anderson County Coroner responded to a crash on Wednesday afternoon.

Troopers said the collision occurred just before 3:30 p.m. on Rampage Road near SC-192 in Townville.

According to reports, a 19-year-old Florida driver in a 1992 Dodge pick-up truck was traveling west on Rampage Road as the driver of a 2003 Mercury was heading north on McGowns Road. As the Mercury turned onto Rampage Road, it was struck by the pick-up truck.

The driver of the Dodge pick-up truck was wearing a seat belt during the crash, but became entrapped in the vehicle and was transported by EMS to AnMed.

The driver of the Mercury was seatbelted during the wreck but also became entrapped, and was extracted from the vehicle. The driver, identified by the coroner as 80-yea-old Nancy Bobo of Townville, suffered a broken neck in the crash and succumbed to her injuries at the scene at 3:32 p.m.

No charges have been filed in connection with the incident at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
