GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

After a Monday morning crash in Greenville claimed the life of an Upstate firefighter, fellow firefighters from his department are pitching in to help his family.

Adam Cory Shaver, 28, of Taylors was driving a 2012 Honda motorcycle when he was struck by a GMC pickup truck pulling out of a driveway on Haywood Road.

Sadly, Shaver died from his injuries at the scene of the crash. His death was ruled an accident.

Shaver worked part time with the Lake Cunningham Fire Department. Lt. Jonathan Anderson said the agency was "heartbroken over the loss of Adam."

Below is the official statement Anderson released on behalf of the department:

"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken over the loss of one of our brothers.  Adam loved to help others and to serve his community. He was extremely dedicated and will be greatly missed.  Please join us as we continue to offer prayers and support for Firefighter Shaver’s family."

Now, in support of Shaver's family following his death, firefighters with the Lake Cunningham Fire Department have set up a memorial fund to assist Shaver's family with funeral expenses and other needs.

The fire department is also selling bracelets in memory of Shaver. The bracelets are being sold for $5 each with proceeds going toward family.

Shaver's friends, family and fellow firefighters honored the fallen first responder at his visitation Friday evening. Lake Cunningham firefighters all signed a t-shirt that was displayed at the gathering.

Funeral services for Shaver will be held at Wood Mortuary in Greer on Saturday at 11 a.m. He leaves behind a wife and two children. Shaver's father is also a firefighter in Boiling Springs.
