GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said an inmate who was accidentally released after being sentenced in Greenwood County on Monday has turned himself back in to authorities.

Deputies said Timothy Ledavis Williams was sentenced to 9 years in prison to be ran concurrent with his other charges. The sentence was given at a General Sessions Court hearing Monday and Williams was mistakenly released after the hearing, deputies said.

According to the sheriff’s office, Williams was released around 7:30 p.m. after the staff at the jail misread his sentencing sheet.

Deputies confirmed on Wednesday that Williams turned himself back in Tuesday night and is back behind bars.
