School bus carrying 13 kids involved in accident in Upstate

GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenwood County school bus carrying 13 kids was involved in an accident Tuesday afternoon, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the school bus was headed north on Kneece Road when a car traveling west while pulling out of a private driveway hit the right rear corner of the bus and fled from the scene.

Fourteen people were on board the bus at the time of the accident including 13 children and the bus driver. One of the children was sent to the hospital as a precautionary measure, troopers report.

The school bus sustained minimal damage.

The vehicle that fled the scene was a dark colored vehicle that went toward Reedy Creek Road, troopers said.
