SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Officials have unveiled nine art installations across the city of Spartanburg as part of the “Seeing Spartanburg in a New Light” campaign.

The art was designed by artist Erwin Redl.

Spartanburg was one of four cities nationwide selected in 2015 to receive grants from Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Project.

City officials said Redl collaborated with police and selected neighborhood associations to design and develop LED light installations that would transform open spaces and create safer, more vibrant neighborhoods.
