A warm-up is in store Thursday, then cooler weather arrives by Friday into the weekend. All the while we are tracking Hurricane Nicole as it may make landfall in Bermuda on Thursday.
Nicole is now a powerful category 3 storm with 125 mph winds. I will come very close to, or make landfall on Bermuda during the day today.
Locally, there will be no United States impact from Nicole. Here, we can expect plenty of sunshine and warmer temps. Highs will warm to around 80 in the Upstate and mid-70s in the mountains. A light and variable breeze is expected throughout the day.
Cooler air will settle in for Friday, as a front sits on top of our area. That will lead to some clouds from time to time, and temps a few degrees cooler. By Saturday, highs will only warm to 70 in the Upstate and 64 in the mountains, with mostly cloudy skies and a small chance for a mountain shower.
Temps will steadily warm up through Sunday and Monday as 80 degree temperatures return. Our next rain chance will come Wednesday into Thursday of next week, but isn't likely to be widespread or all that heavy.
