Troopers said a pedestrian was hit by a car and killed in Greenwood County early Thursday morning.
The crash happened around 5:10 a.m. on McCormick Highway near Wells Road.
Troopers said a 24-year-old was driving north in a Honda sedan when he struck a pedestrian that was walking east in the roadway.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
The coroner identified the victim as 91-year-old Herbert L. Sprowl of Byrd Street in Greenwood.
