All lanes of I-26 West were shut down near mile marker 44 in Henderson County Friday morning and a detour route was set up, according to the NC DOT. The lanes reopened just after 7:30 a.m.
Westbound lanes were closed off after a crash that occurred just before 6 a.m. at Exit 44, the Us 35 exit.
The NC DOT said drivers should take Exit 49-B for US-64 East; continue on US-64 East then turn right onto NC-280; and continue on NC-280 to re-access I-26 West at Exit 40.
