EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A former school district employee was arrested Thursday after an assault was reported at a Pickens County elementary school on Oct. 5, according to arrest reports from the Easley Police Department.

The incident happened at West End Elementary on Pelzer Highway.

Jordan Katherine McAbee was charged with assault and battery third degree according to warrants.

The warrant states McAbee did “willfully and unlawfully place her hands on a juvenile victim by securing the victim’s hand to one of her shoes by a string without consent of the victim or the victim’s guardians.”

The school’s website had previously listed McAbee as a first grade teacher.

FOX Carolina has reached out to the Pickens County School District for more information.

School district spokesman John Eby said on Thursday that he could not comment on personnel matters but said McAbee was no longer with the district.
