EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Pickens County Sheriff's Office needs help to find a missing 15-year-old boy.

Shawn Tyler Banks was last seen by his parents at the family's home on Saluda Dam Road in Easley on Thursday around 6:30 a.m. He was wearing a light-colored shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes, and is described as six feet tall, 270 lbs with brown hair and hazel-colored eyes.

Shawn left the residence carrying a backpack and had a PlayStation 2 gaming system with him as well.

Investigators do not suspect foul play and so far, it appears as if Shawn left by choice and had no intention of attending school that day. Family said his cell phone is now turned off or dead.

Deputies said they are following up daily with Shawn's known friends and working to review social media and cell phone records for new leads.

Shawn's parents are now offering a $500 reward for information leading to his whereabouts. Contributions to the reward can be donated to the Shawn Tyler Banks account at Wells Fargo.

Shawn's father, Rickey Banks, said he has never left home like this before.

"I was worried the first night he was missing but as the days go by, the more worried I get and think something is really wrong," he said. "This isn't like him."

Anyone with information on Shawn Banks' whereabouts is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 864-898-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CrimeSC.
