ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The coroner has identified a couple who who died after a motorcycle collision near Interstate 85 in Anderson County.

Troopers say the crash happened around 3:09 p.m. on Oct. 16. A motorcyclist and passenger were reportedly riding a 2006 Harley Davidson east on SC-24 as the driver of a Chevy Malibu was attempting to turn left onto Interstate 85 from SC-24 and turned in front of the motorcycle, resulting in the motorcycle trying to avoid being hit and losing control.

Both the passenger and driver of the motorcycle were ejected during the incident, though the motorcycle and vehicle never made contact.

The Anderson County coroner said 42-year-old Kenneth Lusk of Hodges was killed in the accident. Lusk's wife, Melissa Lusk, was riding on the motorcycle and was transported by EMS to AnMed. On Monday the coroner said Melissa Lusk succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

Neither were wearing a helmet during the accident.

The driver of the Chevy Malibu was also injured and transported to AnMed.

The coroner spray painted "Look Twice, Save a Life" at the scene, as they do after fatal motorcycle accidents.

This crash remains under investigation.
