Tuesday will be very warm, approaching record highs under mostly sunny skies. Upstate and northeast Georgia towns will make a run for the mid-80s while Western North Carolina looks to make it into the low 80s.
The Record high at GSP airport for Tuesday is 86 degrees set back in 1938. Asheville airport has a record high of 85 degrees for Tuesday set that very same year. Typically we sit in the low 70s and upper 60s this time of year so forecast highs are running over 10 degrees above normal.
Tuesday evening will be mild with lows falling into the low 60s and mid-50s. Look for the abnormally warm temperatures to last into Wednesday as highs reach the low to mid 80s, once again flirting with record setting warmth.
A cold front will arrive late in the week bringing cooler temperatures and rain chances to end the work week, before clearing and cooling for the weekend.
