SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after admitting to getting a 15-year-old pregnant, according to the Spartanburg County solicitor.

Rashawn Tremayne Carson, 37 of Spartanburg, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to the solicitor. His bond is set at $10,000.

According to the solicitor, the victim was six months pregnant when a family member reported the crime to police on Oct 12, 2015. The victim described multiple sexual encounters in her initial police report.

Carson was booked into the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office in December of 2015 when the baby was born, reports state. A DNA test connected Carson to the victim and the baby, the reports said.

Carson also pleaded guilty to two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor on an unrelated case, the solicitor said.

The contributing to the delinquency of a minor cases originated April 26, 2015 after Spartanburg city police said they found Carson sitting in a parked car with two underage teens with empty wine bottles in the car.

Carson’s prior criminal record included convictions for possession of marijuana, open container and violation of the liquor law, the report states.

He will have his name added to the sex offender registry.
