HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

An armed robbery reported at a Hendersonville Subway turned out to be a false call, according to investigators.

The incident was reported by an employee Monday at the Subway on Four Seasons Boulevard, dispatch said.

Sgt. Brandon McGaha said while investigating the report, surveillance video didn't match the employee's story of events.

The employee was identified as 19-year-old Robert Hewitt and McGaha said when confronted about the video, he confessed to filing a false report. Hewitt is charged with larceny by employee and filing a false police report.

McGaha said the teen used the descriptions of two suspects in a string of recent armed robberies to try to fake the theft.

Hendersonville police are investigating after a person was robbed while making a deposit at the BB&T located at the intersection of Dana Road and Martin Luther King Boulevard Monday night.

Henderson County deputies said they are working closely with the police department to determine if the suspects in these events may have been involved in a series of robberies in the county over the weekend. Deputies are asking for help identifying two suspects in those cases.
