WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Oconee man was taken into custody after Walhalla police and Oconee County deputies arrested him on several charges this week.

Reports said 30-year-old Daniel Eugene Fortner was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 6:21 p.m. Tuesday.

Oconee County deputies and Walhalla officers arrived at a residence on Broadway Street in Seneca after receiving information on Fortner's whereabouts. He was arrested without incident by a deputy and transported to the detention center.

According to reports, he was booked into the Detention Center on four arrest warrants by the Sheriff's Office including one count of breaking into a gas tank of a personal watercraft and one count of petit larceny for stealing a gas can, gas and a Jet Ski battery from a Westminster address some time around August 31. Deputies additionally charged Fortner with one count of second degree burglary and one count of grand larceny in connection with an August 5 incident in which he allegedly stole a 1959 Chevrolet Apache truck that was eventually recovered by deputies.

Fortner also had two arrest warrants from the Walhalla Police Department on charges of malicious damage to personal property and petit larceny, two outstanding bench warrants from the city of Westminster and a warrant from the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardons.

As of 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Fortner remained in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
