WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is participating in No-Shave November to raise money for a good cause.

Deputies with the agency who decide to forgo the razor and participate must donate at least $25 to raise money for St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Members of the public interested in helping with the cause can make donations to a deputy or by coming to the Sheriff’s Office during normal business hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

“No Shave November is an initiative to bring awareness to men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, and to help raise money for a great cause,” said Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.  “The men who choose to participate in our department will be putting down their razors for the month to help raise awareness to these issues.  I encourage our citizens to support these efforts by talking with our deputies if you see them in public and making a donation while you have this conversation with them.”

Donations over the phone will not be accepted, as the lines are being used for important law enforcement matters.

People who desire to make a donation for tax-deductive purposes must make the check out to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
