SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Questions remain in the death of Cati Boyter-Blauvelt, whose body was discovered in an abandoned home off Main Street in Simpsonville earlier this week; questions that haunt friends like Maggie Jones.

"I have no idea who would do this to her," said Jones, who FaceTimed with FOX Carolina from her dorm at the College of Charleston. "Like, everybody loved Cati."

Jones recalled how she and Blauvelt reconnected over the summer; she said Blauvelt got Jones a job at the Petsmart on Woodruff Road where she worked. Jones said Blauvelt was ever supportive of her passion for theatre, saying she was ecstatic about Jones getting her first part in a college play.

"I think she was more excited about it than I was and I think she was gonna drive all the way to Charleston just to see it," said Jones. "Cati was the most supportive friend I have ever had."

Coroner Parks Evans said Blauvelt was stabbed to death shortly after she left work at Petsmart Monday around 2 p.m.

"I spent the next day - I called her like every hour, just leaving like voicemails and Facebook messages, like praying harder than I have ever prayed for anything in my life that she was ok."

Blauvelt's car was found across town near White Horse Rd. Her body was discovered in the root cellar of an abandoned home in Simpsonville. Cops said they do not have any suspects, but are pursuing all leads.
