Cooler weather arrives just in time for the weekend while our drought continues to worsen. Severe drought conditions continues for the western Upstate including Greenville, Anderson, and Clemson, along with parts of western North Carolina and northeast Georgia.
Friday will be breezy and cooler as a northwest wind blows in some fall-like air for a change. Highs will still warm into the middle 70s for the Upstate and upper 60s in the mountains, but this will be about 5-10 degrees cooler than previous days.
Friday night will be chilly with lows down to 45 in the Upstate and 38 in the mountains with the northwest breeze continuing to make it feel colder.
Sunshine will dominate for Saturday and Sunday with the cooler, seasonably temperatures sticking around! Frost will be possible Saturday night in western North Carolina, while the Upstate will stay in the 40s in most spots.
The drought shows a deficit of more than 10" of rain in the Upstate, and just over 9" in deficit in the mountains.
