GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

When an Upstate photographer's shoot got canceled, she decided to put her skills to use for a good cause.

Emily Smith is no stranger to cuteness. She photographs expecting mothers, newborn babies, children and families for a living through her company Beth Warren Photography.

As of late, Smith seems to have developed a soft spot for animals. The talented shutterbug told FOX she recently photographed puppies and kittens for the Greenville Humane Society in hopes of finding them their "forever homes". You wouldn't be able to tell from the images she took, that none of the shoot had been planned in advance.

"It was actually totally by accident," said Smith of the fur baby photoshoot. "I had a cancellation and I thought to myself that this day just could not go to waste. My car was full of my newborn photography equipment so I called up Greenville Humane Society and asked if I could take some pictures for them at no charge."

The non-profit organization gave Smith the "okay" to capture their furry friends on camera, and unbearable cuteness ensued. On her company's Facebook fan page, she posted photos from her session.

"I decided to make a stop at the humane society today to get another kind of baby love!!" Smith's post read. "This is what happens when a newborn photographer gets puppies and kittens to photograph! These guys and gals were pure perfection and are up for adoption at the Greenville Humane Society."

Smith said she used newborn posing pillows to pose the puppies, and said she even rocked and petted some of them to sleep to pose them with teddy bears and swaddle them like newborns.

"I guess this is what happens when a newborn photographer takes pictures of puppies," she said.

According to her website, Smith is currently located in Greenville, SC and is available for booking on site locations.

"My goal is to make you laugh and smile to capture perfect moments for you and your family," her site description reads. We think she should add "Puppy Photographer" to her resume.
