Henderson County Sheriff's Office said a man is dead after crashing into multiple vehicles and then charging at deputies.

Deputies said they got a call about a collision involving multiple parked cars around 1:09 a.m. Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at an apartment complex on Howard Gap Road.

According to deputies, the driver of the vehicle that crashed was found naked in the middle of Howard Gap Road. Deputies said he exhibited "extremely irrational behavior" and was non-compliant.

Deputies said that when they attempted to take the driver into custody, he charged at them and a Taser was deployed. Reports said the driver was brought under control after the Taser was deployed, and emergency service workers began to evaluate him for possible injuries.

According to reports, the driver went into full cardiac arrest and was immediately transported to Park Ridge Hospital, where attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Deputies later identified the driver as Ritchie Lee Harbison, 62, of Clear Creek Road in Hendersonville

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina SBI are investigating the incident.
