SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Residents in several Upstate cities and counties voted "yes" to the sale of alcohol on Sundays.

Voters in in Gaffney, Easley, Central, Spartanburg County, Spartanburg City and Greenville County were able to vote to pass a referendum allowing Sunday alcohol sales.

Some of the areas will be allowing the sales "on premises" which means in restaurants and bars. Others will be allowing the Sunday alcohol sales in store, such as gas stations and grocery stores.

Spartanburg County will only allow Sunday alcohol sales on premises, Spartanburg City will only allow the sales in stores. All other cities and counties will allow both on Sunday.

Once the votes are certified, it will be up to the Department of Revenue when the Sunday sales would start.
